Temporary body art that develops beautifully and fades naturally.

London-based henna artistry specialising in natural Jagua henna.

I work exclusively with 100% plant-based Jagua henna, derived from the jagua fruit found in South America. This natural dye creates a deep blue to black stain that closely resembles a tattoo, without permanence.

Jagua henna is known for being gentle on the skin and significantly reducing the risk of irritation compared to synthetic dyes. Each design is applied with precision, care, and intention, ensuring a safe and beautiful experience for every client.

HOW HENNA WORKS

What Is Jagua Henna?

Jagua henna is a natural dye extracted from the jagua fruit. When applied to the skin, it reacts with proteins in the outer layer to create a temporary stain that develops over time.

The stain deepens within 24 hours, resulting in a rich blue or black tone similar to a tattoo.

How Henna Stains Develop

Every henna stain is unique and varies depending on individual factors such as skin tone, body temperature, and skin thickness.

Lighter skin tones tend to develop a deep blue stain, while darker skin tones appear more black. Areas with thicker skin, such as hands and feet, stain the darkest, while arms, legs, and torso often retain the stain for longer periods.

Warmer body temperature helps activate the dye, while excessive sweating can affect the final result.

How Long Does Henna Last?

Jagua henna stains typically last 1 to 2 weeks, depending on placement and aftercare.

Hands usually fade faster due to frequent washing, lasting around one week. Activities such as swimming, sauna use, exfoliation, and long baths can reduce stain longevity.

For best results, the skin must be clean and free from oils, makeup, or residue prior to application.
